History

  • Baisha Bay Cemetery Park is located at the vein of Tatun Volcano Group, one of seven dragon veins in Taipei and near Damshui, Jinshan, Wanli, Shihmen and Shanzhi.

According to Chen, Kuan-Yu, the former chairman of Taiwan Association of Feng Shui Specialists, Baisha Bay Cemetery Park is located at the “concentrated place” where Chi gathers from water (manages manpower) and mountains (manage wealth), which represent the good management of wealth and protection of descendents; as a result, the place is a naturally formed land of fortune.

The aerial view of the entire cemetery resembles a head of dragon. When Baisha Bay Cemetery Park was designed, the dragon was adopted to be the main body of the design. Viewing from the sky, people may observe the flying dragon. Later, the place of 26 hectares designed by Tadao Ando is where the eyes of dragon exist. Thus, the shape of dragon becomes more complete.

Feng Shui

  • Datun Volcano is located at the back of Baisha Bay Cemetery Park and Qixing Mountain is located at the left; facing the north of Taiwan Strait, Baisha Bay Cemetery Park meets the fabulous layout of Feng Shui-“Shelter at the back, left and right and water at the front with islands”.

The ink stone, paper and pens are located at the right of True Dragon Tower and the official jade seal is located at the left. They are symbols of seats of emperors and have implications of true power. Although they are artificial, they still represent emperors. Paper and pens represent intellectual talents and have the smart and studious meaning; the official seal means power. People may gain fame with the help of men of their eminence and thus pass down good heritage to their descendents.
